Analecta and Bullshit

This and That

Bob Loblaw’s Laws

Generally, it’s safer to play [board games] against rather than with one’s spouse. The real hard feelings come when you’re teammates and one or the other lets the team down. Worst is when you argue over the answer to a question and the spouse who wins the argument has the wrong answer. You can bet that’s a quiet ride home.

It’s good sportsmanship to not pick up lost golf balls while they are still rolling.

A Norwegian member of parliament, Trond Helleland, has apologised for playing war games on his pocket computer while his colleagues debated whether to join in any US-led military action against Iraq.

Joe Scoleri’s eBay

Here is a rare book from the Sid Sackson Estate, not only did he collect games he collected books on games. This book dates to 1894. This book is mint for the age.

RARE and Hard to Find MINT condition ... UNOPENED.
This is the Original box, and strap. All boards and unpunched ... Please email any questions you may have before bidding, because I really know nothing about games. I do know that aside from dusty covers, each of the games listed is in wonderful shape inside, OR MUST BE IF THEY ARE STILL SEALED IN ORIGINAL PLASTIC.

400 scanned SPI blank counters; cut your own! ...
This is a set of 4 blank SPI counter sheets in 4 different colors (white, green, red, blue) which have been SUPER hi-res scanned, color printed on 110# heavy-duty card stock, and then spray-glue mounted on cardboard backing that is EVERY BIT as thick as the original counters.
To give you an idea of the quality of these scans, the file size for just ONE of these scans is over 9 MB! The pictured sheets ARE 2 of the scans, NOT of the original counter sheets. These sheets are ready to trim, just cut off as few or as many counters as you need. While the backing is thick, it really cuts quite nicely (and easily); all you need is a decent scissors and the ability to stay on the line (grin). Use as extra game markers, info markers, unit replacement markers, DYO games, whatever you can think of.

may actualy be a prototype cause it doesnt work and i cant see by the wiring that it ever did

I am interested in buying this game in almost near mint conditions.

$49.50 minimum bid; $99.50 buy it now! Here is a Very Rare and hard to find Item. These are Dice sets from some old SPI and Avalon Hill War Games. As most war game collectors already know, these dice are usually the first thing to get lost. I sold appx 100 rare old war games several years back. I had the dice put up so they wouldn’t get lost. Guess what? I couldn’t find them when I needed ‘em! Go Figure that one! In a recent home remodeling project, I found them. Anyhow, there are 8 of the odd shaped, (hardest to find) there are 36 sets of the smallest dice, and 8 sets of the medium size. These are all gauranteed to be Authentic, Original SPI and Avalon-Hill Dice. Please look at the pics and bid accordingly.”

Can I Pay With Photocopied Dollars?

This is a color photocopy of “The Two Ocean War, Naval Combat 1939-1945”, from NMS Games ... Only 1,000 copies of the original game were printed, which is why they are so rare and routinely sell for several hundred dollars a piece on EBay. This is a color photocopy of the game which I purchased from an owner of one of the original copies and have been using as a “filler” until I could acquire an original copy for my collection …This is a rare chance to own the components of NMS’s “Two Ocean War” at a fraction of the cost of an original copy!

Fear of Flying

Navy carrier pilots to Air Force pilots:
Flaring is like squatting to pee. When one engine fails on a twin-engine airplane, you always have enough power left to get you to the scene of the crash.

The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good bowel movement. The night carrier landing is one of the few opportunities in life where you get to experience all three at the same time.

You know that your landing gear is up and locked when it takes full power to taxi to the terminal.

Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees, and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there.
