Jugurtha also gives gamers something they rarely see in ancient world battles: guerilla war fare. Here’s a rare chance to test your on-field maneuver capabilities. In addition, the Numidian forces are ... almost entirely light in nature, they rely on speed and mobility more than anything else.”CommentsThis module for GMT’s Caesar features two battles. The first is that of the Muthul River (109 BC). This was one of the last battles in which the Romans used the manipular legion, therefore the designers recommend using units from SPQR for historicity (though the battle can also be played solely with Marian cohort counters from Caesar). The second battle portrayed is Cirta (106 BC) Both battles pit the Romans against forces led by the Numidian King Jugurtha.Collector’s NotesThis game is still in stock and being sold for $20 at www.gmtgames.com.
