Meeting Members

Short Bios

by Harry Cooper

Over the years and because Sharkhunters is so large, our Members have bumped into one another in many places – in the pits at a road race; on the tee of a golf course; seeing the Sharkhunters bumper sticker on a parked car in a restaurant but this one has to be unique.

As the world knows, American troops are deployed in many spots, hot and not so hot, around the world – for better or worse, they are there and many are Members of Sharkhunters.

And so it was that M/SGT LARRY KAGAN (5053-C-1996) met 1st Sergeant MIKE deCOLIGNY (3732-LIFE-1994). They are both reserve military and have been activated, and they met one another in uniform. LARRY is with an Intelligence outfit and MICKEY D with an aviation battalion. Who knows how they met.

If any other Members have had meetings with other Sharkhunters Members, please let us know the names and circumstances of the meeting and we’ll put it into our KTB Magazine.

6422-2001 CHRIS HARRIS US His Grandfather rode PT 155 in the same PTRon as John F. Kennedy. He had many stories, and we’ll be telling them shortly. CHRIS is a late addition to this listing as we just plain missed this biog about him when it should have run in KTB #179. Sorry, CHRIS.

WALTER (right, top) was a 12 year old Swiss kid when WW II was on, and he is now interested in military items. He served, doing aircraft recognition duty on a Flak battery and ended up as an NCO in an infantry company. His father was a Swiss Embassy courier stationed in Kiev just before and during the 1917 revolution.
Thanks WALTER – good to have someone send a biog AND a photo.

6517-2002 CARL L. CRAMER US
Born in 1933, CARL (right, bottom) still lives in the house where he was born. He served in the USN during Korea in Company 9, Second Battalion then served aboard USS ROWE (DD 564) and eventually wound up as Chief Sonarman. On leaving the Navy, he wound up as his little town’s mayor for 32 consecutive years!
