U-505 Fisticuffs

Marquis of Queensbury Rules?

by Harry Cooper

Apparently the Marquis of Queensbury rules did not apply at a military show in a suburb of Chicago recently where two “dealers” had a confrontation. According to witnesses, these two were both selling U-505 memorabilia when one came to the table of the other and stated that the second dealer was selling at lower prices and thus costing the first dealer money, and he demanded that the guy remove all his U-505 stuff from his table. There were harsh words and then the fists were flying and they were fighting in the aisles of the military show…..probably didn’t look real professional.

The sad thing is that one dealer was PROBABLY selling fake memorabilia, and we know the other dealer does indeed, sell fake memorabilia. He tells buyers (suckers) that all the great U-Boat Skippers are his personal friends and they always stay at his home when they are in Chicago…..it is all totally false!

Too bad this had to happen however, as I was really hoping to buy a hand-signed photo of Julius Caesar on his way to the Forum that fateful 15th of March some two millennia ago.
