I.J.N. Submarine I-366 9August 1945, the I.J.N. submarine I-366 under the command of Oblt. T. Tokioka, launched three of her Kaitens against a convoy 500 miles north of Palau, heard three detonations, and claimed three ships sunk – no confirmation. This was the only action initiated by either Tokioka or I-366. The boat was handed over to the US Navy at the end of the war. Italian Submarine SQUALO 24 June 1941, the Italian submarine SQUALO under the command of TV Ludovico Grion, launched two torpedoes at a tanker and heard two hits. They claimed damage to the tanker – no confirmation. This was the only action initiated by either Grion or SQUALO. The boat lived out the war and was used as a training submarine until 1948 when she was stricken from the Navy List.
