Actually – she is RE-found. This Type VII-C submarine, which was commanded by HORST DEGEN (116-+-1985), was found and dived many years ago by former Member UWE LOVAS (1022-1989), but he kept the location secret, stating that it was to prevent looters from plundering the wreck - but there are rumors that there were other reasons he kept quiet. Larry Keene recently found U-701 and soon there will be dive tours going to the boat.
