The Month of the Lost U-Boats

Book Review

review by Dick Cole

by Geoffrey P. Jones
Hardbound edition published by William Kimber, London in 1977 containing 202 pages, 38 photographs.

Mr. Jones has written several books in which he chronicles the loss of U-Boats for a particular time frame. In this first book, the month of May 1943 is examined, with its 41 U-Boat casualties. Some information about the particular U-Boat is provided, but all the narratives and accounts are from the Allied personnel involved. Among U-Boats with longer accounts are U-456, U-128 & U-563.
