There’s a lump in my throat as I write this, as we’ve just learned from HANS-GEORG HESS (125-LIFE-1985) that his former Skipper and our dear friend GERD THÄTER (194-LIFE-1986) is very ill. That is all we know at this time, but we ask your thoughts and prayers be with GERD. He is a dear friend and a wonderful guy.
This photo is the one that GERD passes out to all our Members when we meet with him in Germany – and he hand-signs each and every photo during the time we visit with him and his U-Boot veteran friends in a little café in Germany.
