Letters to the Editor

GARY van LOON (5688-1998) was with us for our “Patrol” in North Germany in 2003. In fact, he was one of our group that descended into the underground command bunker of Großadmiral Karl Dönitz, and he writes: “You are right about the Uboat.net site. It seems to be just a place where someone copied an encyclopedia on line to pick up on searches such as mine to bring you there and then try to bleed you dry. It’s just a shame that a person going on line for information would be led to this site instead of Sharkhunters, and never know what they are missing.”

Colonel BOB WICKE (6625-2002) was with us for our time in North Germany, and in addition to having a fantastic time, he wrote this as well: “One very important point of the tour – the cost. The cost was very minimal compared to the extent and fantastic subject matter visited. I’m astonished by the low cost.”

We have been told by other tour operators that we just don’t charge enough for our tours, but it was never our intention to make a ton of money. We just want to make it possible for everyone to visit these fantastic places and meet these wonderful veterans while it is still possible. Many thanks, Colonel BOB.

DICK EATON (5501-1998) wrote this with his dues renewal: “I love the magazine. As ex-Navy, I really suck up the information. You also do a tender and loving service by sharing the names of comrades who need our prayers and finally, those who have gone on Eternal Patrol. Thanks and God bless you for the work you do.”

New Member STEVE CESLIK (number not yet assigned), sent: “We talked for about half a hour earlier today when I joined Sharkhunters by phone. I really enjoyed our talk about German, U-Boats, Waffen SS and the zum Türken! Seems like two WW2 buffs can really tie up the phone lines! I am really excited to join Sharkhunters!”

JIM TROKA (6647-2992) wrote the following: “Sharkhunters, I have found to be a most interesting and informative organization. In the spirit of being helpful, this is an organization to contact.”
