The President's Corner

21 Years

by Harry Cooper

21 Years!

Yep, it’s been 21 years since our first one-page newsletter was sent to about six guys who were to become the nucleus of what is now SHARKHUNTERS, the only official publication of U-Bootwaffe history in the world.

It is thanks to you, our Members, who have made this possible. Our long-term Members who have been aboard for ten and twenty years, you are the backbone of Sharkhunters. Our newer Members who have only recently come on board and found what a great history this is, you are the growth and the future of Sharkhunters.

This time of each year is always heart-warming to the Staff, as we realize that we have done our jobs again for another year.

“Patrols” for 2004

Okay, it’s time to dig that passport out of wherever you keep it. our “Patrols” for 2004 are set, and we are going to have a great time, meet some wonderful veterans, enjoy great food and beer, and bring home a lifetime of memories. Details further on in this issue, and naturally on our website with hundreds of photos.

Don’t delay – our 2003 “Patrols” were so well liked by Members and their guests that there are several ALREADY signed on for another visit into history. We can only take 40 on the bus – don’t hesitate, or you could miss out on a great time.

Any questions – just call or e-mail and we’ll have answers.

BBC Praise

The BBC considers SHARKHUNTERS to be:

“The most respected and the most authoritative source in the world for German U-Boat history.”
--per BBC reporter Graham Pound; November 1996
