By Dick Cole (204-1985)
by DAVID IRVING (2294-1992) Hardback edition published by Simon & Schuster, New York in 1968 containing 337 pages, 52 photographs. The oft-told story of this convoy is given its best treatment in IRVING’s book. The Arctic convoy to Russia was dispersed because of the threat from the TIRPITZ, only to be mutilated by aircraft and U-Boats. Most of the personal narratives are from the British side, but good detail is provided about the German forces involved including U-88, U-251, U-334, U-355, U-376, U-408, U-456, U-457, U-657 and U-703.
