Letters to the Editor

MIKE NICKERSON (6614-2002) is helping with a project we need for Captain ‘HAI’ MAßMANN (4522-LIFE-1995) and he also wrote in his note confirming the help: “SHARKHUNTERS is an outstanding resource! Many thanks!”

STEVE POWELL (1414-LIFE-1990) writes:
“I have enjoyed reading the SHARKHUNTERS KTBs over the last dozen years very much. Your efforts to preserve submarine history are obviously appreciated around the world.”

DRAGAN BLAGOJEVIC recently came aboard and when he got his ‘Welcome Aboard’ packet, this is what he wrote:
“I have received my KTB #166. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Yep, he put twelve exclamation points behind that sentence. Glad to have you aboard, DRAGAN and for many years to come.

STEVE POWELL (1414-LIFE-1990) just sent an e-mail saying:

“I was a junior member of the Coronado Yacht Club 79-80. Jack Coye was already well known to me since I was reading everything I could about WW II fleet boats. He had a Cal 25 “SEADOG” and sailed it frequently. I think I made an impression on him as a 17 year old who knew a lot about his career on the SILVERSIDES. I rode my bike past his house practically every day which had the submariner dolphins mounted over the garage door. I thought many times on wanting to crew for him just to hear him recollect some diesel boat history, but as most 17 year olds, I was more inclined to pursue the beach bikini scene. Ned Beach and Jack Coye were tributes to our fine Navy and the Submarine Force. Thanks for helping preserve their place in history.”

ART COLLINS (1054-1989) wrote this with his renewal:
“Here is my renewal check for three years. It’s hard to believe I’ve been a Member for so long. My only regret is that I did not join earlier. I have learned much from your magazine. You have done a great job about the Kriegsmarine. Keep up the good work.”
