Dr. (Jur.) WOLF ACKERMANN (6183-2000) was Watch keeping Officer aboard U-509 and Skipper of U-994. He writes:
“I wish you all the best for the beneficent work you do for all the world’s submariners.”
Dr. ACKERMANN is another of the Skippers who have signed 100 photos of themselves to help in our recruiting of new Members

New Member KAREN SKOTNICKI writes:
“The Magazine is wonderful! It is important to have people dedicated to the preservation of this history.”

PAUL WAGNER (2037-LIFE-1991) recently wrote:
“A brief note – I have been a Member since 1991 and have thoroughly enjoyed being associated with such a fine organization. All the articles that are written by the veterans are very informative and I have the highest respect for these brave and courageous men no matter what country they fought for. Keep up the great job you are doing, for you have truly founded a significant and important organization. I look forward to many more years of loyal Membership.”

LARRY HAGENAH (1232-C/LIFE-1989) got his 2003 Sharkhunters Calendar and was so impressed, he wrote this:
“Just received the calendar yesterday. It’s by far the best calendar I’ve ever had, bar none. Hope to see a few more in the future.”

Thanks for the nice comments LARRY. No worries – we intend to offer a Sharkhunters calendar each and every year.

As we see by his Membership Number, ROBERT DeMARS (1042-1989) has been aboard for many years. He wrote:
“Great publication. Congratulations on another year!”

Our friends in the St. Petersburg (Russia) Submarine Club (6015-2000) wrote:
“Shocking news from the USA – please accept on behalf of Saint Petersburg Submariner’s Club our condolences on the loss of Columbia crew.”

BILL BURKE (3270-1993) has also been aboard for many years and he recently moved. He wrote this with his address change:
“I’ve moved. Please change your records accordingly. Don’t want to miss any KTB’s.”

Due to the computer crash we had in September, the zip code we had for MARK PEARSON (1881-LIFE-1991) had to be corrected and with the correction, he wrote:
“Please make this change as I don’t want to miss an issue of the KTB.”

Chief KEN HENRY (1468-1990) rode USS ARCHER-FISH and later became COB on another submarine. He wrote:
“You are really special. That’s why Sharkhunters is a one-of-a-kind organization.”

RUDY BILLER (4256-1995) rode the U-boats, and he wrote:
“I’m grateful that you are doing so much for the forgotten heroes of WW II.”

STEVE POWELL (1414-LIFE-1990) wrote:
“I have enjoyed reading SHARKHUNTERS KTBs for so many years very much. Your efforts to preserve submarine history is obviously appreciated around the world.”

EDDIE PHILLIPS (220-A/LIFE-1986) has always been a staunch and solid Member. A while ago, he wrote:
“I have been enjoying the serial stories in the KTB more than ever before.”

Thanks for the good words EDDIE. Most Members hate the continued stories and we really hate to continue them – but some are just too long to put into one issue.

JASON SANTA (6648-2003) writes:
“I am a new Member, and I love the Magazine and the website. Good work folks!”

Thanks for the kind words JASON; and the cap badge you asked about, in our opinion, is that of U-71.
