‘Rollie’ was a US Navy PBY pilot and only bombed one submarine. He was promptly chewed out by his Commanding Officer and told that next time he saw a submarine, he was to make sure it is the enemy before dropping bombs. Seems he mistook an American submarine for the enemy. What the heck, they all look alike, don’t they? Fortunately, he wasn’t a very good bomber and he missed the American sub he attacked.
