The photo on the right is HELMUT KLONZ (3155-1993) and on the left is ERNST BREHM (3428-1994) who served on this boat. KLONZ was a crewman; BREHM was Fähnrich (midshipman) at the time this photo was taken.

Position sunk: 50º 12’N x 36º 34’W (9 men lost)

The only Skipper of U-187 was Kapitänleutnant Münnich.

U-187 was attached to the 10th U-bootflottille, which was based at Lorient. She was on her first Feindfahrt (war patrol) when she was sunk with the loss of 9 men, 45 captured. Neither U-187 nor Münnich initiated any attacks in WW II.
