Of the 145 Knights Cross medals awarded in World War II to the men of the U-Bootwaffe, these include: 29th was Kapitänleutnant Herbert Kuppisch, Skipper of U-58 and U-94. The award was made 0n 15 May 1941. 30th was Kplt Herbert Wolfahrt, C.O. of U-137 and U-556; and he pledged to be the little brother and protector of BISMARCK. Award on 15 May 1941. 31st was Kplt Georg Schewe, Skipper of U-60 and U-105. The award was made on 23 May 1941. 32nd was Kapitänleutnant Klaus Korth, Skipper of U-57 and U-93. The award was made on 29 May 1941. Remember - we really, REALLY need a listing of all the US Navy submariners who earned the Navy Cross. There must be a list some place - please dig it up and send it here. Thanks.
