History recorded that Clive Cusler found this famous Confederate submarine, the first to ever sink a ship. But there is strong and compelling evidence that LEE SPENCE (1543-1993) actually located this submarine many years before but could get no interest from the Government at the time. More and more distinguished researchers are demanding that SPENCE be given the credit.
