Oil Slick

Book Review

by Dick Cole

This is a novel entitled `OIL SLICK' written by JACK MYERS (5581-1998) and it is about a young Skipper who was determined to win the Knights Cross and he needed only one more sinking.

The review is done by RADM Tom Patterson, former Skipper of the Liberty Ship SS JEREMIAH O'BRIEN, and he writes:

"Congratulations on this outstanding document of the German submarine force, their 'Happy Time' and their ultimate defeat. I identified with your book from sailing in the North Atlantic and the South Pacific in World War II. The convoys, independent steaming through the Mona Pass, sinuous course clocks, gasoline laden tankers all were remembered while reading this excellent, well researched book. learned a lot I never knew from your book."
