Japanese Boats 16 Sept. 1944, I.J.N. submarine I-364 under command of Makino was sunk by the American submarine USS SEA ROBIN (SS 400) at 34 ° 30'N x 145° 23'E. Neither I-364 nor Makino initiated any attacks during WW II. 25 September 1944, the I.J.N. submarine Ro-47 under command of KK Nobuo Ishikawa was sunk by USS McCOY REYNOLDS (DD 440) at 09° 19'N x 136° 44'E. No actions were initiated by Ro-47 during the war, but while in command of I-15 Ishikawa fired torpedoes at the USS WASHINGTON (battleship) but the torpedoes detonated about 300 yards prematurely. Italian Boats 1 September 1944, the Italian submarine UIT-19 (ex-NAUTILO) was sunk dockside at Pola by RAF bombers. 4 September 1944, the Italian submarine GRONGO (now UIT-20) was sunk dockside in Genoa by RAF bombers. 4 September 1944, the Italian submarine MURENA (now UIT-16) was damaged by RAF bombers at Genoa, taken to La Spezia and scuttled, raised and recommissioned. 4 September 1944, the Italian submarine SPARIDE (now UIT-15) was sunk dockside in Genoa by RAF bombers.
