The award was made 29 Aug 1940. 12th Oberleutnant Engelbert Endrass, I.W.O. on U-47 and later Skipper of U-46 and U-567. The award was made on 5 Sept 1940. 13th Kapitänleutnant Günther Kuhnke, Skipper of U-28. The award was made on 19 September 1940.
