No Flowers
on a Seaman's Grave

WWII Song Lyrics

by Harry Cooper

Captain ROBERT CUSICK (4335-1995) is trying to locate a German song which he heard aboard a ship in the spring of 1943. The ship was carrying POWs and he heard it. Some of the words:

"Auf einem Seemannsgrab da blumen keine Rosen
Auf einem Seemannsgrab da bluht kein Blumelein."

Translation:

"Upon a seaman's grave no roses blossom
Upon a seaman's grave no little flowers bloom."

BOB would like any information at all about this song AND if possible, he would like a tape of it. Who can help?
