.....on 13 November 1941, U-81 under Lt. GUGGENBERGER (269-+-1987) sank the British aircraft carrier HMS ARK ROYAL in the Mediterranean east of Gibraltar? It sank after listing for more than 12 hours, during which time all but one of her crew were taken off.

HARRY's NOTE - GERRY RICHTER (214-LIFE-1986) was on the radio of U-81 during this action

.... LCdr Freiher von TIESSENHAUSEN (268-1987) in U-331 sank the British battleship HMS BARHAM in the eastern Mediterranean on 25 November 1941? 859 men died when the battleship suddenly rolled over and the magazines exploded. It was the only battleship sunk on the high seas by any U-Boat.

.....Lt. Paulsen in U-557 sank the British cruiser HMS GALATEA on 14 December 1941 off Alexandria?
