On Eternal Patrol

Obitutuaries

by Harry Cooper

PAUL BOCHEN (5051-1996) was a crewman on a ‘black’ boat that operated up to the end of the war and perhaps a bit longer than that.

He had a tremendous amount of information with him, but shared only a small amount with us. He said that it has been arranged that all his information on the secret activities surrounding the smuggling of high-ranking Nazis to South America would be sent to SHARKHUNTERS twenty years after his death. Some of the information we have on the escaping Nazis came from PAUL and we also got his copy of the code these surviving crewmen use.

Fair winds and calm seas to you always PAUL.

RN CAPTAIN VICTOR HAWKINS (1364-A-1990) and his wife USA CAPTAIN PATTIE ROBINSON (1497-+-1990) had been on board for quite some years, as you can see by his Membership Number. They had been strong, supportive Members all those years. When he lost PATTIE two years ago, VIC tried to bounce back but it was obvious to friends that he was a ship without a rudder. I spoke to him about six months ago and it was obvious that VIC was in trouble with cancer and about two months ago, we were told that he had so much cancer that it was difficult to tell what parts were affected and what were not; but we were told that his lung cancer would take his life and very soon.

VICTOR HAWKINS began his ETERNAL PATROL the beginning of 1997. VIC old friend, we wish you fair winds and a smooth, following sea. We know that you and your beloved PATTIE are reunited and our prayers are with you.
