This section began in KTB #115 and is intended to familiarize our Members with many of the German (and other military) terms we see on the pages of our KTB Magazine.

‘TIEFEN’ means ‘DEEP’ or ‘DIVE’
‘RUDER’ Same as English, it is the boat’s rudder
‘TIEFENRUDER’ is the ‘DIVING PLANE’
‘RUDERGANGER’ is the sailor who operates the rudder or the diving planes
‘ZENTRALE’ is the CENTRAL CONTROL ROOM
‘FUNKER’ is the RADIOMAN
