The 29th (and final) winner of the OAK LEAVES to the KNIGHTS CROSS was Kapitänleutnant Hans-Günther Lange, Skipper of U-711.
Hans-Günther Lange was born 28 September 1916 in Hannover and was in Class IV of 1937. He won his KNIGHTS CROSS on 26 August 1944 and the OAK LEAVES on 29 April 1945. He was the 29th U-BootFahrer to win the OAK LEAVES, and the 846th overall in the Wehrmacht.
