Variety of Sharkhunter Information

SHARKHUNTERS in 60 COUNTRIES!

When MAXIMILIANO GONZALEZ GONZALEZ (4936-1996) came on board, the country of VENEZUELA became the 60th country in which there are SHARKHUNTERS Members.

MAXIMILIANO is an officer in the Navy of Venezuela and he teaches Naval Tactics to cadets in their Naval Academy. He is using our KTB Magazine as a training aid, with special emphasis on the tactics of the great commanders.

WELCOME ABOARD to MAXIMILIANO and to the country of VENEZUELA!

U-BOAT! by SHARKHUNTERS

This book was written by our Members who served in the war at sea. Have you placed your order yet for this exciting book? The books will be received here in October and will then be shipped out promptly, but get your order in so you will be one of the first to receive this book. Is it a good book? ADMIRAL FRANK KELSO (2919-1993) read the manuscript, and he says this:

“The pages of ‘U-BOAT’ are fascinating reading. They tell the gripping stories of war at sea in the words of those who lived and died in submarines and those who hunted submarines. That old enemies have become friends is the real story of this book. None could have thought 50 years ago that this book would be printed or that such mortal enemies would relate the grim stories of the war in a book written together.

I found the stories of great interest and recommend them to those who would like to know how the war was fought at sea. It should be remembered that the life of Britain and Germany depended on the outcome of the U-Boat conflict. This book relates how this took place, scene by scene and the courage and bravery of the men who participated on both sides. I recommend its reading as a reminder never to get enveloped in such a conflict again.”

Save Some Money

As we read in our KTB Magazine a month or two ago, the US Postal Service has handed bulk mailers another increase, this time in the area of 8%. We said that we could absorb this increase for perhaps one year before we would have to raise Membership dues to catch up with these constant increases by the US Postal Service. There is no way around it, dues will go up in about a year. SHARKHUNTERS is not raising your dues, the US Postal Service is doing that with all the ‘silent’ rate increases that the consumer rarely sees - they raise the bulk mailing rate, so since there is no increase in the price of a First Class Stamp, this news does not make the newspapers or TV, so most people don’t see it.

How do you save money? When you receive your dues renewal notice, why not pay for more than one year at a time? If you pay for two years, or three, perhaps four - even more, then you will not pay anything extra until whatever you have paid runs out. You will save about $5 for each year you pay in advance over the expected increase in dues next year.

It may not seem like much, but five bucks here and five bucks there - it adds up. We hope we have saved you some money.

Goodby to Carrie

You will notice a blank space on the masthead where we once saw the name of Carrie Waugh. Carrie has been with us a little over a year and has done a super job for SHARKHUNTERS and EAGLEHUNTERS but she is now going back to college. We wish her well, and we know she will succeed in her future.
