JUN'YO was attacked by American bombers during the Battle of the Philippines. The ship received two direct hits near the stack and six more bombs exploded in the water very near the ship. the damage was severe enough to halt air operations, and to cause the ship to return to her homeport for repairs.

CONCLUSION

The aircraft carrier was put out of commission temporarily because of two direct hits and six near-miss explosions of American bombs.
