Unexploded Bombs, JFK, Mining

by Harry Cooper

‘JFK and the NAZI SPY’ is the title of a videotape recently released, which tells the story of the romance between John F. Kennedy as a 24 year old Naval Intelligence officer in Washington DC and Inga Arvad. Inga-Binga, as J.F.K. called her, was a 28 year old Swedish beauty with whom he fell madly in love. The problem was that she was the companion of Adolf Hitler at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, and was the mistress of Axel Wenner-Gren, one of the top German operatives in the western hemisphere.

J. Edgar Hoover, the head of the F.B.I. hated the Kennedys and used his influence in an attempt to have J.F.K. booted out of the Navy. At that time, ‘Papa’ Joe Kennedy was still good friends with F. D. Roosevelt, so Hoover could not prevail. However, ‘Papa’ Joe didn’t want his son running around with a woman who was not a Catholic and who was divorced, so between ‘Papa’ Joe and Hoover, J.F.K. got re-assigned away from the cosmopolitan setting of DC and instead, got sent to a P.T. Boat base in the Pacific.

It is a nice story and it is indeed a true story. But we have to break the heart of the distributor of the videotape - they did not just break this story as their advertising claims. This entire story was reported in our KTB Magazine about 5 or 6 years ago.

From U-Boat Skipper to Mining Mogul

HERBERT WERNER (18-C-1983) was a U-Boat Skipper during the war, and he wrote an absolutely superb book - ‘IRON COFFINS’; but he has not been sitting still all these years. Recently HERBERT has taken on offshore mining concerns in South Africa and also has 5 diamond concessions.

HERBERT writes that he would like to be remembered as the U-Boat Skipper who won the war by embracing former enemies and using combined submarine technology, is creating the world’s first and only true commercial submarine fleet.

Good hunting HERBERT; if you have a few diamonds lying around, you can send them here. We’ll find good use for them.

UXB and HOT ORDNANCE

UXB of course, means unexploded bombs, and HOT ordnance is self-explanatory. According to an ‘INTEL’ update from CHARLES EVERETT (2187-1992), German EOD personnel are uncovering a large amount of unexploded World War II Luftwaffe Ordnance in Northern Germany near the town of Marx. This was a Luftwaffe bomber base during the war until it was captured by the British at the end of hostilities. Rather than exploding all this, the Brits dropped it all into a pond at an abandoned rock quarry. It was only when German health inspectors took water samples in the area and came upon a high metal content in the water that they became suspicious. An ‘old timer’ in the area told authorities how he watched the Brits dump all the ordnance into the pond.

The area is now blocked off while German EOD trained divers are bringing up all this potential disaster.

CASH FOR BOMBS - the German Government offers cash for any unexploded ordnance that fishermen bring up in their nets in the North Sea. Not a bad deal - assuming the fishermen are able to get the UXB aboard and ashore - while it is still unexploded!

SS John Barry and U-859

When U-859 sank SS JOHN BARRY, how could Kapitänleutnant Jebsen know that this ship was filled with tons of silver Saudi Riyals? It was something like 10 million of them were in the holds of JOHN BARRY, some 6,000 feet below the surface of the water.

A group, headed by GORDON RICHARDSON (4294-1995) has snatched thousands of these Riyals from the deep and you may own a Silver Saudi Riyal from the holds of SS JOHN BARRY, sunk by U-859 so many years ago.
