Biography of the KNIGHTS CROSS winner who sank the ATHENIA and who was the first to arrive at a French base. Well written, unbiased article on one of the first U-Boat heroes of the war. Much of the information was provided by former crewmen who served under Lemp.
HARRY’S NOTE - a great deal of the information that went into this article came from GEORG HöGEL (240-1987), who served as radio operator on U-30 and later on U-110, both under Lemp.
