Scuttled U-Boats

More than 100 German U-Boats were scuttled by the British after the end of World War II in Operation ‘DEADLIGHT’ off the NW coast of Ireland. Exactly where were they sunk? NORMAN FIELD (4642-1996) tells us the following:

U-928VII-CSunk by RAF aircraft on 16 Dec. 1945 at 55.50N x 10.05W.
U-930VII-C41Sunk 29 Dec. 1945 at 55.22N x 07.35W Cause of sinking unknown.
U-956VII-CSunk by gunfire 17 December 1945 at 55.50N x 10.05W.
U-968VII-CFoundered at 55.24N x 06.22W while under tow.
U-978VII-CSunk 11 Dec. 1945 at 56.10N x 10.05W Cause of sinking unknown.
U-991VII-CSunk 11 Dec. 1945 at 56.10N x 10.05W Cause of sinking unknown.
