THE STORY OF U-505

Book Review

by Dick Cole

Museum of Science and Industry

Softbound edition first published by the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago in 1955, containing 36 pages, 62 photographs. Later editions omit pages and photographs; the 1985 edition has 32 pages, 35 photographs. Currently available from the publisher.

While primarily concerned with the capture of U-505, this pamphlet contains a brief crewman’s account of the boat’s history and a photographic journey through the boat. The later editions maintain the same basic text at the sacrifice of photographs.
