KFK-203 Mary and KFK-204 Barbara

Spook Stuff

by Harry Cooper

Mary

Who can help us with answers to these questions? Perhaps you have figured by now that these SPOOK STUFF columns are a critical piece of a very impressive puzzle. Answers please -

MARY sailed from Norway the first days of Feb. 1945 with orders to sail for the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The Skipper was Oberleutnant (S) zur See der Reserve Christian Nissen. (The older Nissen, former Skipper on KYLOE, German agent ship in 1941 near TWINS, South Africa). Nissen was Officer III/Nautik Rank.

All U-Boat Skippers were told by radio by order of Karl Dönitz (Order No. 2329/13 of 13 February 1945) that attacks on fishing smacks and sailboats in the European Arctic Ocean and the North Atlantic was forbidden.

In the end of April 1945 KFK-203 MARY sent the last message:

PASSIERMELDUNG - from South Atlantic; west of Africa in the middle of South Atlantic twenty degrees south.

Possibly the war was over and KFK-203 MARY sailed from twenty degrees south to South America - Patagonia or Chile. All men, the Skipper and the ship are missing.

Possibly in Chile was the last German Abwehr Station and radio station in Chile in FEUERLAND.

CAN ANYONE TELL US MORE ABOUT KFK-203 MARY?

Barbara

BARBARA sailed from Norway at the end of January 1945 under orders for the Panama Canal with special demolition bombs, high explosive bombs for shutting down the Panama Canal in April/May of 1945. Three Japanese submarines, equipped with nine airplanes, were to attack the Panama Canal from the Pacific side.

But in early May 1945, the war was over for Germany and KFK-204 BARBARA was in the middle of the Atlantic. It is possible that BARBARA sailed to South America - either to Venezuela or Columbia.

The Skipper possibly was Oberleutnant zur See der Reserve (S) Horn or Oberleutnant zur See der Reserve III (S) Brusgatis. All the Skippers - Nissen, Horn, Brusgatis were (S) which means with Sonderführer, and worked for M-1 which was the German Secret Service Abwehr, later the RSHA.

KFK-294 BARBARA is missing. There are no crew lists and no crew names. All hands, the Skipper and the ship are missing today.

CAN ANYONE TELL US ABOUT KFK-204 BARBARA?

With the two ships, there were 60 German Special Agents and 12 Special divers. They have all vanished from the pages of history. Who can give us more information on KFK-203 MARY and KFK-204 BARBARA? And if anyone is really paying attention, can you see where this part of World War II history is leading? Keep reading, the new facts brought out of old archives by our S.E.I.G. Agents will astound you!

We need to locate Mr. Stephen Anderson who was originally from Rockford, Illinois and who served with the 100 Division, US Army and who was in Berchtesgaden, Obersalzberg in May or June 1945.

If Mr. Anderson is alive today, he would be approximately 75 years old. Any information on this man would be greatly appreciated.

We need any information on ‘Operation ÜBERSEE 1’ which was a night flight on the night of 26 April, 1945 from Berlin to Barcelona. The plane was either a FW 200 CONDOR or a JU 290.

IMPORTANT - Whenever we ask a question under the heading of ‘SPOOK STUFF’ it is very important. These are small pieces of a much larger puzzle so anyone with information will be a great help. If YOU have any answers, please let us know.
