The only Commanding Officer of U-131 was K.K. Arend Baumann. This boat made only one patrol, this in the Central Atlantic, where she was sunk by HMS STANLEY, HMS BLAKENEY, HMS EXMOOR, HMS STORK, HMS PENTSTEMON assisted by aircraft of 802 Squadron flying off the carrier HMS AUDACITY.
