Where Is Becker?

Personal Papers

by Harry Cooper

Oberleutnant zur See Klaus Becker commanded U-260 from 28 February 1944 until the boat struck a mine off the Irish coast and sank on 12 March, 1945. The entire crew was saved and interned in Ireland. Some even went to college there and studied engineering. Not a bad P.O.W. camp.

Why are we trying to locate Oblt. Klaus Becker?

PAUL DARCY (4505-1995) was looking through official files of U-260 and found Becker’s wallet in this file! So was his soldbuch, photographs, bank books and a great deal of personal paperwork that must be of great value to Becker if he is still living or to his relatives if he has already departed on his ‘Eternal Patrol’.

So to our German friends - or to anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts, we ask - WHERE IS KLAUS BECKER?

Please contact this HQ and we will put him in contact with PAUL DARCY so he may retrieve his wallet and personal things. In advance, vielen Dank.
