Wk.202

Profile and History

by Harry Cooper

Like the TYPE Wa.201, the Wk.202 were experimental small boats for use with the Walter turbine. The unacceptably high fuel consumption of the very fast Walter turbines made this boat impractical. These two boats were U-794 and U-795. as we read in KTB #115. The two Wa.201 boats were built by Blohm & Voss while the two Wk.202 boats were built by Germania Werft.
