Sellwood, A. V.
‘THE WARRING SEAS’ - also ‘DYNAMITE FOR HIRE’

Hardbound edition titled ‘THE WARRING SEAS’ published by White Lion Publishers, London in 1956 containing 237 pages, no photographs.

Published in Great Britain by T. Werner Laurie in 1956 under the title ‘DYNAMITE FOR HIRE’, no details known.

Biography of Johann Fehler - who was captain of a minesweeper, then mining and Demolitions Officer on the raider ‘ATLANTIS’ on her famous 622 day voyage, and subsequently captain of U-234. This boat was one of the rare minelayer TYPE X-B. It sailed on its only patrol in early 1945, bound for Japan but had only reached the North Atlantic at the time of the German surrender.

The book reads like an autobiography, as it is written in first person. This style of biography makes the reader wonder how much of the dialogue is truly authentic.

(HARRY’S NOTE - JOHANN-HEINRICH FEHLER was Member #32-1984. He had always been a great help with the history of this famous last ride of his. KPLT. FEHLER began his ‘Eternal Patrol’ some two years ago.
