JUDE STACKPOLE (1334-+-1990) is on ETERNAL PATROL, but we have a great deal of his work and bring more of it here.: “Consider this - ONLY the military codes used in Europe were broken. The AUSLANDS Codes - even though they were encrypted on ENIGMA, were never broken. For example - the U-Boats used the HEIM (home) code keys while the raiders (the auxiliary cruisers) used the AUSLANDS code keys. The raider key was never broken and the raiders were tracked down due to reading U-Boat traffic (radio messages). Much is made of understanding the mechanics of the ENIGMA machine and as a consequence breaking the codes technically. However all things considered, we must then accept as a fact that what worked under one series of circumstances didn’t work under parallel & nearly identical circumstances. It just doesn’t make sense I could go on and on, but I am sure I have made my point.” JUDE was deeply involved in the research of how the German codes came into the hands of the Allies - even the codes the Allies never broke. It has long been suspected that the TRITON code of the U-Boats was never broken, but was sold to the Allies by a German traitor. Did this traitor exist? If so, who was he? Why have the Allied archives maintained such super-tight secrecy on the codes and their ‘cracking’ all this time. We’ll have to wait until someone else takes up this research, since JUDE can’t. As you remember, he was riding his motorcycle on a clear Saturday morning when the driver of a car blew through a red light and killed JUDE instantly. We really don’t know what happened to his notes.
