DICK COLE (204-A-1986) has compiled a list of the various submarines on display and where to find them. Here we read that you may visit U-995, the only TYPE VII-C German U-Boat left in the world, at the Marine Memorial (the German Navy Memorial) at the little town of Laboe outside Kiel in Germany. SHARKHUNTERS always visits this ‘GREY WOLF’ every time we have a historic visit to Germany as we did this past September. This was the boat of our very good friend, OBLT. HANS-GEORG HESS (125-LIFE-1985) who, just turning 21 when he was given command of this boat, became the youngest combat submarine commander of any Navy in World War II.
