We have been informed, some months ago, about a comedy movie in the making entitled 'DOWN PERISCOPE' which will have Kellsey Grammer as the star. A great deal of this footage is shot on board USS PAMPANITO (SS 383) in San Francisco. One of our Members with connections to the movie industry, has told us that the US Navy will give no assistance to this movie because they do not like the plot. I have seen some preview scenes of the film and can perhaps understand why the Navy took this position.

Another Member, DAVID HAMBLEN (2477-C-1992) sent a letter here to confirm that 'DOWN PERISCOPE' is indeed, going along in the filming. In his letter, he writes:

"There is indeed a 'comedy' movie being done with Grammer called 'DOWN PERISCOPE'. We have been working on it for around ten months or better. I've only been on the show around four weeks myself. We are at Fox (Studios) but there is a location up around San Francisco and a couple others.

Rumor has it that there will be yet another movie about subs done. That's all I know right now, but I will keep you posted."
