HORST HASLAU (167-1986) was the Radioman on U-1230 when they entered Frenchman's Bay on the coast of Maine to place two German agents ashore. HORST writes:

"The ever expanding group of SHARKHUNTERS came a long way since our first contact, ten or so years ago. Today, here we are, still exploring, probing, discovering and re-discovering; searching and researching historical events, statistics and anecdote memories of earlier times."

LUFTWAFFE veteran GEORG von ZIRK (3290-1993) writes:

"I appreciate that you are publishing the story of the crew of 'ANTON KURFURST'. I must say that you Americans are giving us more recognition that our own fatherland does. But then, governments are known for that - your own Viet Nam veterans have experienced that."

YOYA KAWAMURA (1739-LIFE-1991) writes: "In KTB #109 you wrote an excellent piece about the infamous Captain Ariizumi and the atrocities he had committed."

TIM SCHUBERT (2398-1992) writes: "I have been a SHARKHUNTERS Member for three years. It is by far the most rewarding and informative Membership that I have ever been a part of."

TOM BARRETT (2898-1993) is a veteran of USS KEARNY (DD 432) and he writes: "On Wednesday this week, I sent my 1983 Toyota out on its final patrol. Since I had a SHARKHUNTERS decal on the bumper and removed it so that no desecration would be done to it, I need another one." We sent two bumper stickers to TOM.

BILL 'THE ENFORCER' BALL (1891-LIFE-1991) is a veteran of UDT Team 23, and he donated a huge book of World War II wall charts, and in this book he wrote: "To SHARKHUNTERS; the best history group in the world!"

BILL signed on for our SHARKHUNTERS/EAGLEHUNTERS trip to Germany in September this year; as have about 15 Members and guests so far. Will YOU be going to this beautiful and historic country with us? Get your reservation in soon. See you there, and bring a big appetite - the food is GREAT! Bring the camera and camcorder - every town is right off a post card - you'll LOVE IT!
