USS Cabot

And Angry Words!

by Harry Coooper

My son, SEAN PATRICK COOPER (1/2-LIFE-1987) had a week off school the beginning of March, so I took my family away for a week in Key Largo in part, to begin planning for the 10th Anniversary of our very first Annual Convention.

Perhaps it is just as well that we were not home, as the head of Legion Post #377 in Louisiana called and since we were not in the office, the answering service got to listen to his screaming and threats. He was angry that we continue to print the attempts by decent Americans to SAVE this priceless piece of American heritage while Legion Post #377 is trying tooth and nail to sell the 'IRON LADY' for scrap!

Sorry, Alex - when you and the folks at Post #377 remember that the word 'AMERICAN' should be part of your Post name; you will then remember that we try to SAVE American heritage, not sell it to be broken up.

To everyone at Legion Post #377, I say this - look in the mirror. Are you proud of the guy looking back at you, trying to sell your American heritage? I sure wouldn't be if I were in your shoes. And to Alex - thanks for the call.
