New Movies

We've learned that two new submarine movies are coming out soon

One is 'CRIMSON TIDE' written by our SHARKHUNTERS Member RICHARD HENRICK (2568-1992) and according to RICH, the test audiences who are viewing the film like it. We will let you know when it is finally released for public viewing.

Another is a supposed comedy entitled 'DOWN PERISCOPE'. It stars Kelsey Grammar who plays Dr. Frasier Crane on the successful television show 'CHEERS' which has left the air, and now the new show 'FRASiER'. According to our sources, the US Navy was not amused nor pleased with the film. We will reserve comment until either I or one of our Members has seen the film.

NEW BOOKS

We know of two new submarine books coming on the market soon.

'PORTRAIT OF A U-BOAT COMMANDER' is the working title of a new book by Jordan Vause. We will soon get a report from one of our Members who is helping the US NAVAL INSTITUTE PRESS with accuracy checking etc. of this book.

'DIE FESTUNG' means THE FORTRESS and that is the title of a new book written by Buchheim, author of 'DAS BOOT'. I have no idea what this book is about or whether the book is good, bad or whatever. We will wait for one of our German Members to review the book before we make additional comment.
