WALTER JANEK (227-+-1986) served aboard U-67, and when that boat was sunk, only three men survived. One was WALTER. As we see by his Membership number, WALTER was one of our early SHARKHUNTERS Members and more important, he really lived our motto of "Yesterday's Enemies are Today's Friends". He not only became good friends with the pilot and also the bombardier of the US NAVY plane that sank U-67 but he recruited them both as Members of our SHARKHUNTERS. WALTER began his ETERNAL PATROL just after Christmas, 1994 and we wish him fair winds and calm seas.
