His convoy duty took him to Italy, England, Scotland and France. After the War, he worked for forty years for the Ford Motor Company. He says: "I will always remember my shipmates; the good times and the bad. Have yet to meet men of their caliber."

(3634-1994) JOHN F. FLOBERG USA Undersecretary of the US NAVY shortly after the War. He spotted U-505 on the list of ships, planes etc on which he was to sign orders for destruction. He began the fight to save U-505 and saw it through from step to step, until this, the ONLY TYPE IX-C open to the public, was safely alongside the MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY (324-1987).

(3652-1994) WAYNE A. KANEEN USA WAYNE is the son of Albert J. Kaneen, an American who volunteered for service in the Canadian Navy in 1940. Albert served aboard HMCS SNOWBERRY in the North Atlantic, escorting convoys, and was involved in the sinking of U-536. WAYNE has also been quite active in historical preservation and has worked on several movies, including GLORY and IRONCLAD. He is currently forming a group to produce films dealing with Florida history.
