Thanks to new Member CAPTAIN ALVIN P. CHESTER and the gift of the book he wrote; "A SAILOR'S ODYSSEY (at Peace and War 1935 - 1945)" Ensign CHESTER at Pearl Harbor in early 1940. And from DWIGHT McMAHON (615-1988) we received a very nice addition, entitled: "THIS IS THE NAVY" and it is sub-titled 'Thirteen stirring, true stories of America's new and powerful Navy' and the book was published in 1944. This is a piece of history and is already in a glass case in our RESEARCH CENTER. It is not possible to read this book, as the pages are old and the binding is weak, so any attempt to open and read the book would damage it.
