by Harry Cooper

Oesten on the Bridge.

From the information received from WERNER K. HOFFMANN (327-LIFE-1987) we learn that U-861 made the trip to the Far-East with a cargo containing electro motors and lead in ingots. This boat, under KAPITANLEUTNANT JURGEN OESTEN (1681-1990), operated off Capetown and the African east coast with layovers at Penang and Djakarta.
