In our KTB Magazine a month or so ago, we read of the Chief of the submarines of this Navy, under command of ComSub who today, is KAPITAN zur See KURT PFENNIG (2390-1992). There are currently two squadrons in the U-Bootflotille and since they are both on the Baltic, they are odd-numbered Squadrons. If there were a Squadron on the North Sea, it would have an even number. The 1st U-BOOTGESCHWADER is based in Kiel and consists of U-11, U-12, U-13, U-14, U-19, U-20, U-21 and U-27. Two of these boats are the old 205 CLASS and six of them are early-model 206 CLASS boats. The U-Boats of the 3rd U-BOOTGESCHWADER in KTB #109 next month.
