Final fate - decommissioned 30 September, 1936; recommissioned at Philadelphia Navy Yard on 6 September, 1940; on 1 March, 1941 USS S-12 was assigned to SubBase St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands; on 5 August, 1942 she was assigned to SubRon Three based at Coco Solo with Lt. F. McMaster in command; 18 May, 1945 USS S-12 was decommissioned at Philadelphia Navy Yard and struck from the Navy list; 28 October, 1945 she was sold for scrap to Rostoff Brothers on 28 October, 1945 then resold to Northern Metals in Philadelphia.
