Massachusetts Observation Towers

Here is the last question asked by PROFESSOR HANK KEATTS (59-1990) and MAJOR JAMES ROSE (78-C-1984). They ask what were the tall concrete observation towers with pillbox-like windows in them, that were located along the Massachusetts coast? There was a rumor that a German agent was killed trying to rig a demolition charge to one of them; any truth to that story?

Well, do our Members have anything on these stories?

WWI Conning Tower Art

BOBBY KIRKLAND (3296-1993) has a few questions that we would like to ask of you, our Members. As we know, many German and Austrian cities and towns adopted a specific U-Boat and the COAT OF ARMS of that city was on the conning tower of the boat. BOBBY would like to know if this was also done during World War I. Answers please? Thanks in advance.
