There is a lot going on and this issue is packed with information such as more details about our 1995 EXTRAVAGANZA visit to Europe; more opinions on Women Aboard - in KTB #106 last month, we read opinions from 8 Members and all were in the negative.....there will be more in this issue; USS CABOT is all but doomed by an American Legion post in the New Orleans area; and there is much more. No More Two-Digit EAGLEHUNTERS! As predicted in KTB #106 last month, all the two-digit EAGLEHUNTERS Membership Numbers have been assigned, but if you join now, you can still have a Membership Number in the low 100's. Act fast, time and EAGLEHUNTERS Membership Numbers wait for no one. Self Esteem Perhaps it is not too well known, but our KTB Magazine is collated, folded, stapled, stuffed in the envelopes and sealed by the local high school class of handicapped children. They do a fine job, despite the fact that some are handicapped mentally, others physically. We pay for this work, but instead of going to some corporation, this money goes to the kids themselves and they have a tremendous increase in self-esteem when they can buy something with money they earned themselves. While I was at the school last week, the teacher told us of a young boy who had been a behavior problem in class, until he got his first check through SHARKHUNTERS for work he had done on our KTB Magazine - and he bought a new pair of gym shoes with his own money. The teacher said that he was a new kid, hard working and not in trouble any more. About that moment, that boy came into the classroom. He waved and said hello to the teacher, sat down at his desk, and quietly went to work. He had a smile of satisfaction on his face; and a brand new pair of sneakers that he bought with the money he earned from SHARKHUNTERS. Thanks to you, our Members and your Membership dues, there is a bunch of kids who earn their own money doing meaningful work, putting our KTB Magazine together.
